I grew up listening to stories of my grandfather being the Deputy Commander of the Taiwan Army, but never really knew what it meant or what he had to go through to achieve that ranking. My other grandfather was the military attaché for the Taiwan Army in the United States. When I was younger, I couldn’t fully appreciate what all of that meant. It wasn’t until I took this picture and got such an amazing response from Veterans did I realize how many people were affected by war, especially Vietnam. Hearing all the emotions that this image stirred up made me appreciate how lucky I am to have such amazing grandfathers, and the sacrifices everyone in the military has made. I’m truly blessed to bring you this piece of art. Again, thank you for your service.
